1. What these messages are

CCE Platform, Inc. ("CCE") sends billing text messages on behalf of the ambulance agencies that use our billing software. Messages tell you that a statement is ready and give a secure link to view or pay it. The agency's name appears in every message. We do not send marketing or promotional texts.

2. How you sign up

There are two ways. Either way the box is unchecked unless you say yes, and your care never depends on agreeing.

At the time of your ambulance care, on the patient authorization form, by checking the box that reads: "I agree to receive billing text messages and emails from CCE Platform on behalf of [agency]. (The app inserts the transporting agency's name.) Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out. Consent is not required to receive care."

From a mailed statement. Each paper statement carries the line "Get your statements by text or email instead", a short web address and a QR code. The address opens a sign-up page, which also appears on the statement's payment page. There you type your mobile number and check a separate, unchecked box that reads: "I agree to receive billing text messages from CCE Platform on behalf of [agency]. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out. Consent is not required to receive care." We then send one text: "CCE Platform for [agency]: reply YES to get billing texts. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help." Texts start only if you reply YES. Email has its own box and is confirmed by a link we email you.

3. How often

Message frequency varies. Typically you receive up to three messages per statement, about 30 days apart, until the statement is paid or resolved.

4. Cost

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. CCE and the agency do not charge for these messages.

5. How to stop or get help

Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving billing texts. You will receive one message confirming you have opted out, and no further texts. Reply HELP for help, or contact the agency's billing office at the phone number on your statement, or hello@cce-platform.com. Stopping texts does not cancel a balance; statements will continue by mail.

6. Your mobile information

Mobile phone numbers and text-messaging consent are not shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. They are used only to send the billing messages described here. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except service providers that deliver the messages on our behalf. See our Privacy Policy.

7. Carriers

Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

8. Changes

We will post updates here with a new "Last updated" date.
